Eckland-Site-Plan---Hex

Welcome

Thank you for visiting our website which is here to provide information and ways to feedback on our plans for a new solar farm, battery storage and substation on land at Eckland Lodge, south-east of Market Harborough, east of Braybrooke, and north-west of Desborough.

Online information event

We held an online public information event on Wednesday 27th August 2025 to update the community on how the plans have changed thanks to your feedback, and to present what is being proposed in the planning application we have submitted to the Council. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed. You can view a recording of the webinar below.

We are Regener8, our vision is to help power the country towards more reliable, affordable, and clean energy through quality and innovative schemes, which do more than just generate and store clean energy, but also benefit the local community.

Founded in 2018, we focus on the development of high-quality solar and energy storage projects. At the moment, we have almost 50 projects across the UK, Italy and Poland.

In 2021, North Northamptonshire Council declared a climate emergency. They subsequently agreed a set of recommendations, which aim to reduce emissions to lessen the causes of climate change; adapt to the current and future impacts of climate change, and raise awareness in communities to the causes and impacts of climate change. This was further supported by a Climate Change Strategy, which aims to reach net zero emissions by 2050 or sooner.

We have been working with our consultants and the landowners to bring plans forward. We are now keen to discuss the emerging plans with the community, listen to feedback and understand how you think the plans can be improved.

Public Consultation

We held a public consultation event on 20th March at Braybrooke Village Hall to discuss the emerging plans with the wider community, listen to your feedback, and ensure the impacts are minimised and wider opportunities maximised.

The period of public consultation and feedback window is now closed - thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the proposals.

We will consider all comments before we finalise our plans. We intend submitting a planning application in May 2025.

Some of the key benefits include:

icon-co2

The displacement of thousands of tonnes of CO2 from equivalent fossil fuel energy.

icon-butterfly

Significant biodiversity net gain through new planting, wildlife corridors and wildflower grassland.

icon-sheep

Sheep could continue to graze on the site.

icon-group

A community benefit fund will be provided to support local causes.

icon-money

Business rates payments to the Council, which can be spent on local services and infrastructure.

The 39MW development could generate enough clean energy to power thousands of homes a year and improve local biodiversity by a large margin, while continuing to contribute towards food production with sheep grazing around the solar panels.

News

We have submitted our planning application to North Northamptonshire Council, which will soon be available on the Council’s planning portal. You can access the planning portal here.

In response to public feedback, we have made a number of changes, including:

  • Removing the proposed solar element of the scheme entirely
  • Relocating the proposed Battery Energy Storage System and substation further east, nearer to the A6
  • Reducing the overall footprint of the scheme

We intend to hold an online public information event, where we will explain our updated proposals further, and take questions. There will be a newsletter issued ahead of this event to invite you to register and take part.

Thank you to everybody who has taken part in our consultation.
